Ali & Hugh’s super laidback Australian vibe made this a super cool wedding to shoot. The ‘no wedding wedding’ as it started out, developed into a celebration that truly reflected who they are as a couple: happy, fun and super chilled. Ali beamed from ear to ear all day, radiating love and happiness, a smile only matched by Hugh, and closely followed by the smiling faces of all their close family and friends.
The couple, who are both Australians living in London, met in Melbourne. After making an 18 month stint part work, it was clear they had something really special here. Hugh proposed at Lake Como when Ali’s parents were over and she immediately said yes. Together they planned an informal wedding, a relaxed house party kind of vibe, which Babington House is so good at. Making the wedding their own they ditched formalities that weren’t meaningful to them – like the bridesmaids and the cake, and instead creating a big beautiful fun party to celebrate their marriage.
The result was the best no-wedding wedding ever. As lively, fun filled, natural and relaxed as the couple, it was an awesome celebration to be a part of, and I wish you both a truly wonderful life together! It was an absolute pleasure.
