I LOVE this hotel.…and the owner’s hospitality, amazing cooking and 3 adorable dachshunds. A beautiful elegant Languedoc town house from the 1880’s, in the little village of Rieux Minervois, Le Domaine aux Quat Saisons is a real gem. It has tons of period features and lovely gardens with a pool but is furnished by the owner with his own global finds and personal touches. I stayed here on a short break and it was a peaceful sanctuary for me at a very sad time… David the owner nurtured me with his home cooking….a three course meal every night with local wine, and made with local produce, sometimes grown in their own garden (I discovered how delicious stevia, a natural plant sweetener is in a salad….sadly the sale of this natural plant is currently banned in the UK). I slept soundly and had time and space just to be, to reflect and to be present.
I highly recommend this hotel; it’s wonderfully affordable and everything is just lovely, personal and homely. Oh and that building! C’est chic!
