Palm Springs, I adore you! The amazing modernist architecture, the endless blue skies and sunny days, and the great shops and food. I stayed at the lovely Orbit In. There aren’t any pictures of the place itself as I was laid up in bed with a cold, but afterwards I returned and captured a little of it’s magic. So much more there though: a return trip is definitely on the cards….. I’d love to build a modernist inspired villa in Ibiza one day (my own Grand Design…), so perhaps another trip in the name of research?!

In my thoughts…..
Today is the first anniversary of my mum’s passing away, and she is in my thoughts a lot today. I wanted to spend some time honouring her memory and reflecting on the things she has brought to me. She loved flowers (found in her photo albums were pictures of every single bouquet I sent her over the years, captured on film so it would last forever)…and she loved afternoon tea. So today I spent some time picking wild flowers from my garden, and arranging them in glass jars, and lit a candle to honour her memory (she also loved scented candles). Then I made some homemade chocolate brownies for afternoon tea (not quite the same in 32 degree heat as in a cool Worcestershire country afternoon but hey, it’s all about the idea….). I reflected on all the things we had shared, what she had given to me, and her life….. and I cried for what I miss, and what she is missing. My mum will never see my own wedding pictures, but I have seen hers. Here she is in 1969 walking down the aisle with her father (who passed away before was I born)…
And here she is with my father, as a newly wed leaving the church….
And here receiving a lucky horseshoe from a young guest…..
Loving you always mummy xxx
Wedding Photography at Babington House – Preview of Laura & Seb
A sneek peak of Laura and Seb’s very fun wedding at Babington House. A 7am finish? Say no more…..
Ronni & Matt – La Sardina Loca, Ibiza
More from Matt & Ronni’s Pre Wedding Shoot (you can see Part 1 here), including at La Sardina Loca, my favourite local cafe, recently opened in Cala Carbo, by the same people who own the fab Giri Hotel, where we stayed last year on holiday. Marcel makes the best gin & tonics (the trick is fresh local rosemary, lemons, Gin de Mare and Fevertree tonic), as Ronni will attest, and it’s a cool, laidback hangout with beautiful decor and great food.
