A Paris Celebration

“I just turned 30. I decided to celebrate in style. The recipe to a great night: my best friends, glitter, high heels, candles,
champagne, a delicious cake, good music, a chic hotel suite, and some Polaroids to capture the craziest photos”

When it came to Audrey’s 30th birthday party, she decided to mark it in style. A quintessential Parisian woman, and a talented photographer too, she used her creativity to produce this perfect little celebration.  She commissioned some beautiful hand calligraphy for invites, and little party signs –  ‘Time to Shine’ & ‘Joyeaux Anniversaire’, hired a suite at a beautiful hotel, a friend made a gorgeous cake, decorated the suite with antiques and beautiful flowers with the help of some friends then invited a bunch of her best friends to drink champagne. We spent the afternoon shooting on the streets of Paris for Audrey to have photographs that captured this personal milestone, then her cocktail reception in the suite with a bunch of friends before going on to a chic Parisian restaurant for a fine meal and dancing.

I think it’s a magical idea for a hen party, but I also love the idea of commissioning portraits of yourself or yourself and a loved one on the romantic streets of Paris, to celebrate a special occasion or just to treasure as an experience. More coming up later this week from the shoot…

I love this idea (and Polly these three posts are amazing! truly capturing the Paris mood and elegance) I rarely if ever celebrate anything in my life, sucesses, milestones etc as I don’t take time to stop but just run and run with everyday life and tasks and new projects amid the chaos of husband and two small kids. june 2013 I will celebrate my 30th brithday in style drawing ‘concept’ inspiration from this shoot. This will be my chance to dress up, feel beautiful, and celebrate the lovely people I have in my life and toast to the small sucesses I have worked hard to achieve so far! :)
