Emily & Stef created a wedding that was as eclectic, creative and vibrant as they are people. A wedding that was truly them. Filled with love and the creative efforts of the pair and their friends and family. With Emma the Wedding Reporter covering the event, and a wedding blog feature imminent, I will leave the storytelling to those that do it best, and share my own story of their day through some of my favourite images.
Emily tweeting on her wedding day! Could there be anything more exciting to share?
Emily and Stef opted to do a first look in a beautiful spot near Arundel Castle before the ceremony. To see each other for the first time, to take a moment on their own to take in each other…..to connect and embrace, before joining the wedding. I love these moments and they are sweet and intimate to photograph. We took the opportunity to do their couple shots at this point too, so once the wedding started they could focus on being with their friends and family, and in flowing with the day. This is quite common in the US but not so much in the UK although I have done quite a few. I highly recommend it and it can also help take away the pre-ceremony nerves and allow you to focus on enjoying yourself!
After a stormy, windy wild start to the day, the clouds parted and out came beautiful sunshine and blue skies, just in perfect time for a beautiful outdoor ceremony with singing from friends, singing from the children, the blessing of rings by the parents, special readings and the exchange of rings. Rings the couple had made for each other themselves as a surprise.
And then the heavens opened….. oh yes.
The guests made pinwheels and bowties to accessories their outfits.
With a whole lot of little ones guests at this wedding, Emily & Stef arranged for fun games and for them to have their faces made up. Here’s Emily with a little lion, otherwise known as their daughter Imogen.
Dressmaker extraordinaire Mr Christian. Responsible for Emily’s fab dress and for her bridesmaid dresses too. Quite possibly didn’t make them on a machine like this, but I felt he might like sitting next to it on my blog.
The evening reception took place in a big yurt filled with fun things to do, balloons, big paper pom poms and colour. A DIY triumph.

One of the fab activities in the crafts area the couple set up with the help of their friends. Activities included ‘Make Your Own Bowtie’ and Decorate a Cupcake’.
