Today is the first anniversary of my mum’s passing away, and she is in my thoughts a lot today. I wanted to spend some time honouring her memory and reflecting on the things she has brought to me. She loved flowers (found in her photo albums were pictures of every single bouquet I sent her over the years, captured on film so it would last forever)…and she loved afternoon tea. So today I spent some time picking wild flowers from my garden, and arranging them in glass jars, and lit a candle to honour her memory (she also loved scented candles). Then I made some homemade chocolate brownies for afternoon tea (not quite the same in 32 degree heat as in a cool Worcestershire country afternoon but hey, it’s all about the idea….). I reflected on all the things we had shared, what she had given to me, and her life….. and I cried for what I miss, and what she is missing. My mum will never see my own wedding pictures, but I have seen hers. Here she is in 1969 walking down the aisle with her father (who passed away before was I born)…
And here she is with my father, as a newly wed leaving the church….
And here receiving a lucky horseshoe from a young guest…..
Loving you always mummy xxx

I bet your Mum is looking down and smiling today 🙂
And I adore your Mum’s wedding dress, it’s just beautiful! What style she had – something that has rubbed off on her daughter clearly 🙂
Much love,
