Chris went to school with Anna’s sister and they got together 6 years ago on the last day of their holiday with a group of friends to the Dominican Republic. Chris proposed at Christmas at Princess Cave, an idyllic secret location in Thailand and Anna planned a wedding that mixed vintage elements – like the silvered flower jugs and beautiful soft bouquets and table arrangements, with modern touches like the message table with photographs of past family marriages, and the photo area with it’s vintage frames and ‘pucker up’ sign. It was such a fun and relaxed day. I love their Buckinghamshire venue, Stoke Place Hotel, and always enjoy doing wedding photography there. One of the nice things about the venue is that not only does it have stunning interiors, and beautiful window light, but also accommodates outdoor ceremonies, weather permitting (!), one of the reasons that Anna and Chris chose the venue. One of the other reasons they chose the venue was down to a dream Anna had about a tree….. and when she came to the venue there was that exact tree! It was destined to be! It was really important to the couple to have an outdoor garden blessing that was conducted by their good friends Serena and Justin; a blessing that was super personal, sweet and heartfelt. This was followed up by some hilarious party games, a traditional Chinese tea ceremony where close family members sip tea in celebration of the union, and the bride is gifted with jewellery whilst wearing a traditional red dress. There was lots of dancing, lots of laughter and lots of fun…. and I am sure that will continue long into their marriage.
Venue: Stoke Place Hotel, Buckinghamshire. Strapless Dress by Pronovias, Hair & Make Up by Dina Catchpole & Denise Lilley, Flowers by Gail Smith, DJ Zulu from Arcangel, Cake from Hummingbird Bakery.

I just added the bending over shoe shot and wedding party walking shots to my ‘need’ list underneath ‘running through trees with no shoes’ shot. I don’t know if it’s the way you shoot them or the weddings themselves but I’d love to be a guest at all of them. And tea? I love tea.

I love that they mixed their cultures together. It’s also great they were lucky enough to have an outdoor ceremony!
