My Birthday

Today is my birthday. I share the date with Elvis and David Bowie apparently, although I think that’s about all we share…. I had a wonderful day at one of my favourite places in the world near my home in Ibiza, the incredible restaurant Es Boldado opposite Es Vedra (that’s the restaurant in the bottom left Polaroid). Today we shared pink champagne (a bit of glamour is always good) and fresh mussels, followed by ‘bullit’, a local speciality dish with scorpion fish, dorada, and other fish in a saffron and allioli sauce, which is followed by a flavoursome paella. Rounded off with creme catalana and the obligatory hierbas. Lunch finished at 6pm. And the light was sublime. A fine day.

I will be back in the office from Monday and I look forward to catching up with you all then.
