Florence and Fred married on that epic snowy December Saturday in London, when the city was covered in a blanket of white. It was touch and go as to whether we’d all make it, and I crawled across London at 15 miles an hour to reach the bridal preparations; it’s the only time I have ever seen the roads in central London deserted! The choice of individual little snowshakers for their favours turned out to be unexpectedly appropriate….
Flo and Fred, despite meeting young, already had years together before they married. According to their friends and family they are perfectly matched both in profession and personality. Trusting me to use my artistic license to capture a portrait of their wedding that was both relaxed and elegant, their brief to me was lots of grainy black and white and a relaxed feel. One Marylebone is a stunning venue and an atmospheric choice for a winter wedding. I also love those wine glasses…exquisite…. but most of all I love the overriding combination of elegance and fun that characterizes this wedding…I adore the way everyone took to the dancefloor with great gusto – and indeed many with some panache! When I look at those images, all shot on grainy black and white film, it feels like watching an old movie and I feel the day come alive once again.
Wishing you both a long lifetime together full of a lot of love and happiness xx
I love Flo’s makeup – often brides make the mistake of going too subtle and it just doesn’t show up on camera. Celia, her young yet very talented make up artist created beautiful eyes, that were the perfect counterpart to her striking dress with it’s wide grey satin sash, and a look that enhanced Flo’s natural beauty.
These are beautiful little Polaroids I shot, and the images are made from the negatives which I scan afterwards. I love their vintage quality.
This group shot was totally sponataneous….all Flo’s girlfriends got together and grabbed me for a quick one just for Flo…we had to run off quickly as first dance was just starting!

Seriously Polly you blow my mind. These are stunning and the snow, oh the snow. It reminds me of getting snowed in and drinking hot chocolate and marshmallows and blankets and fires and all kind of romantic wonderful things. The Bride is Simply. Gorgeous.

Such stunning photos…My favourites are of the bride, groom and the guests going for it on the dance-floor! You captured such joyful moments!
